SUNDAYS: Biciruta

EVERY SUNDAY 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

The Biciruta is a bike ride that takes participants through some of the most scenic and interesting parts of Merida. The ride starts at 8:00 am every Sunday and takes about two hours to complete. The route varies from week to week, but it usually includes some of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the Plaza Grande, the Paseo de Montejo, and the Parque de la Mejorada.

One of the things that makes the Biciruta so special is that it is open to everyone. You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist or even own a bike to participate. In fact, many people rent bikes from local shops or simply walk the route. This inclusivity has made the Biciruta a beloved community event, and it’s not uncommon to see entire families riding together.
Along the way, there are several stops where participants can take a break, grab a snack.

You do not need to have your own bicycle, in Paseo de Montejo they rent bicycles every Sunday for the occasion, try to arrive early to rent one with time!
